There's no question that Zharkov has oodles of offensive skill to work with and aggression and determination to match.
His defensive skill is just as impressive, and that's still continuing to improve, as well.
The end result: he had a +23 for the Lowell Devils in his first season with them in 08-09.
He was off to a hot start with Lowell in 09-10, averaging nearly a point a game, when he got the call to New Jersey to be an
injury replacement for a game against the New York Islanders. And he got involved often in the game, too, nearly getting his
first NHL goal at one point, but getting the post instead.
If I hope anybody stays with the Devils, I hope it's Zharkov, as I'm a huge fan of two-way players, and this team is where those
players thrive, anyway. As long as he can start scoring goals.
