Regular Season Statistics with the Franchise
Weekesie had been a Devils killer when he played for the Hurricanes. But even by the time he was a Ranger, his playing time
had diminished.

So he knew and understood the role he would play when he signed with the Devils. He pretty much welcomed it.

Even though he only had about 5 starts, in the other 77 games, you can always see Weekes play head cheerleader on the
bench, smiling, banging on the boards after a Devil wins a fight, always supportive of Marty Brodeur, etc.

Gotta love those team players. They're a rare find these days in sports.

When it was decided that he would not resign with the Devils, he decided to retire and join a new team: the Hockey Night In
Canada broadcast team as a colorman and analyst. His hiring by the CBC is historical: he's the first black analyst in the game.

He's open for a comeback, by the way.
