Ward came to the Rockies straight out of juniors, playing for his hometown team Seattle Breakers for 3 years. (He had moved
to Seattle after he was born.) He would only play the 4 games with the Rockies, and for that matter, the NHL. After the
Rockies' season was done, he was sent to the CHL's Fort Worth Texans for some postseason games there.
He would continue to play in the minors, first with the Texans, then the Wichita Wind for a few games after the Rockies became
the Devils, and followed that with 2 seasons with the Muskegon Mohawks of the IHL. He would retire during the 83-84 season
after playing only 9 games with the Mohawks that year.
