Like many of the career minor league players that have come to the Rockies' system, Turner had played the most games of their
NHL careers while there. (He also saw 1 game with the Rangers and 3 with Los Angeles.)
And it was a short pro career as it was. However, it was productive; he had achieved 20 assists in a season 4 times.
A shoulder injury in 80-81 late in the season caused him to miss, I would say because I have no evidence, the rest of the season.
I would say that it was the beginning of the end because he only played 2 more seasons, but he had his best 2 minor league
seasons at that time with 54 points for Rochester and 34 with New Haven.
He co-founded Lease Equities, Inc. after he retired from playing hockey. He had also later served as a senior VP of Dean Witter
Reynolds and worked there until 1995.
His impending lawsuit for mail fraud had to have been why. I won't get into detail about that, though.
