The thing with Tallinder is he's a good physical defenseman that can also move the puck and provide some secondary scoring
from the backline. (If you wanna call it that.)
He can also provide some leadership. I did see a picture of him with the captain C on it. (Likely a preseason game, though. He
never served as captain during the regular season for the Sabres, even when Lindy Ruff was doing rotating captains.)
It was also thought that he was brought in to work with the young Swedes in the Devils' system. (Mattias Tedendy, Jacob
Josefson, and more notably, since he also plays defenseman, Alexander Urbom.)
As long as he doesn't persistently try to score with the women, this is a win-win signing.
