If there was any consolation of bringing in Peter Sundstrom, it was that he at least got to play with his brother on this side of the
Atlantic.
During his 2 seasons with the Caps, he had suffered through a lot of injuries. It especially caused him to miss more than half the
season in 88-89. This was pretty much his last go at it in North America.
He did have some scoring ability, but was never able to come close to what Patrik had done, unfortunately. (To be fair, it's hard
to achieve a 90-point season to begin with.) Although you could make a case for the time he had playing in Utica, where in 31
games, he scored 29 points.
Like what Patrik did the following season, Peter opted to finish his playing career in his home country. He would play 5 seasons
with Malmo before retiring.
