Skrlac has a special personal tie to me. I'll explain why later.
Skrlac was a brute out on the ice... and I don't mean that he played like one. Necessarily. He was best known as a fighter is
what I'm trying to say.
That and a career minor leaguer. I'd probably have to look it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was the record holder for
career PIMs in the history of the Albany River Rats.
At least he got to see a few NHL games before he decided to hang them up. Yup, got himself in a few scraps and even scored
a game-winning goal.
To this day since his retirement, he's a semi-regular on the Alumni special appearance scene. Yup, once in a while, he makes an
appearance at places like the Draft Party at the Rock in 2008. That's just one that comes off the top of my head.
And finally, that personal tie?
He's my twin brother from a different mother! :)
