After finishing his senior year at Michigan, Ryznar joined the Albany River Rats as a checking line winger. During that first pro
season, he received a bit of a surprise: he got the call-up to New Jersey in January. Injuries and suspensions were prominent for
the Devils at that point in time, so that's why he got the call. He would only see a handful of games, as well as ice time, as he was
seeing fourth line ice time when he suited up.
He would continue playing in the Devils' system (Lowell) for 2 more seasons, but was not offered a contract and became a
UFA after the 07-08 season.
He received an invite to the Minnesota Wild's training camp. A couple weeks later, he was reassigned to the Houston Aeros'
camp to try out there, and he would make the team. He saw 77 games for the Wild's AHL team in 08-09.
Entry Draft: 2002 Third Round Pick (64th overall) by the New Jersey Devils
