If there's one thing you would like about Richmond, it's his enthusiasm... You want two things? How about his desire?
He had both, which lead him to sign with the New York Rangers despite not getting drafted. He spent a large part of his career
in the minors, but did get to see his fair share of NHL games on top of that, including those 44 games with the Devils. And
amazingly enough, those 143 PIMs were second on the team behind Ken Daneyko, who played 79 games that season.
His job was done, though. That's part of why he came to the team: to inject some of that muscle and spirit.
The following season was spent in Utica, where he did more of the same, plus had his best offensive season at the time with 33
points.
While in the Kings organization, he played for 4 different teams in those 2 seasons: the Kings themselves, the New Haven
Nighthawks, the San Diego Gulls, and the Flint Spirits. It was with the Nighthawks that he topped the season in Utica. (41
points in 49 games.)
The Gulls would be his last team. He would retire in 1991.
