After turning pro, Nicolson was playing a LOT of his games in the minors. He only had one game with the Bruins. So after he
finished the 79-80 season with the AHL's Binghamton Dusters, he decided to take the year off and go to school at the
University of Guelph to study veterinary medicine.
He joined the Rockies after that year and split the season with them and the CHL's Fort Worth Texans. He had 21 points in 30
games with the Texans, while you see the numbers he had in Denver.
He was part of the team when they moved to New Jersey, but the Rangers claimed him in the waiver draft before he could play
a game as a Devil. He only played 10 games as a Ranger, though; he went back to the CHL to play for the Tulsa Oilers.
He was there for 2 years, played 6 games in the OHA Senior's League, then signed a minor league contract with the
Washington Capitals after the 84-85 season started, meaning that he played his final pro season with the Binghamton Whalers.
After retiring, he put his veterinary studies to use and became a veterinarian in Lakefield, Ontario, where he's been practicing
since.
Entry Draft: 1978 Second Round Pick (35th overall) by the Boston Bruins
