The only claim to fame involving Muir and the Devils was being part of the trade that all but completed the assembly of the
A-Line.
At the time, he was also still relatively a new pro. He was with the Oilers for 3 seasons, but most of his game action was seen
with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Nothing changed for him when he came to New Jersey: most of his game action was with
Albany.
To be fair, with the team's depth on the backline, it was extremely difficult for him to crack the Devils' lineup.
The trade to Chicago made it happen, though, if only for a couple seasons. He would resume splitting time with the NHL and the
AHL in 2000-01 while he was with Tampa Bay, Colorado, and Los Angeles.
After the lockout, he stuck in the majors again as a member of the Washington Capitals. But luck ran out when he suffered a
foot injury in 06-07 and saw only 26 games.
He would play a season with the Toronto Marlies after that. In 08-09, he game Europe a try, splitting time between the KHL
and the DEL.
