Regular Season Statistics with the Franchise
Stats in bold signifies team leader.
McEwen had all the skill a player could want to play in the NHL. It did earn him an All-Star Team selection in his first season
with the Rockies, after all.

His issue was mostly that he was more of a free spirit and often clashed with his coaches. He particularly has problems with Don
Cherry during the aforementioned season. Cherry had blamed McEwen's play in a loss late in the season against the Chicago
Blackhawks. Offended by the remarks, McEwen refused to play for Cherry and demanded a trade. The trade wasn't granted,
so he sat out for a number of games and was ultimately suspended by the team.

However, a meeting between McEwen and management later took place, and it was found out that McEwen had been
demanding a trade before that incident, and the Blackhawks game was the tip of the iceberg, where Cherry had physically
abused him on the bench. (Grabbed and shook him.)

Long story short, McEwen wasn't traded still, but Cherry was fired at season's end.

Things were still hellish for McEwen in Colorado, which lead to him being traded to the Islanders.

He would continue to bounce around the league, as well as the minors up until 1988, where he then went to play in the Swiss
League until 1991. He would retire for good in 1992 while with the New Haven Nighthawks.

He took to coaching in Oklahoma City after retirement, both with the CHL's Blazers and in women's hockey.
