Kroupa had a little bit of size to him, but he was best known for being extremely skilled offensively. He could move the puck
and had a cannon shot from the point.
However, he struggled to find a place in the North American game. Despite having size, he didn't really use it that much, a
must-do with the rugged North American game. He also could not get used to playing a longer schedule.
Thus, while with both the Sharks and the Devils, he kept alternating between the NHL and the minors.
In his later seasons on this side of the Atlantic, though, he did use the time in the minors to refine his game. Then the first
opportunity he got, he returned to Europe. He played his first season back in Germany, then moved on to his homeland and has
played in the Czech League since. Currently, he's playing for Litvinov.
Entry Draft: 1993 Second Round Pick (45th overall) by the San Jose Sharks
