When the rumors started swirling around, I honestly never thought that Kovalchuk would be a Devil. But even pursuing him
showed everybody that Lou Lamoriello was going for it.
He's got it all. Size, strength, speed, skill. His heart was questioned in Atlanta, but he's showing that he has that, too. The
common belief is that he didn't like playing in Atlanta.
His defensive game is questioned, too, but that's nothing that can't be fixed.
Even if it was a rental move ultimately, it's a gamble that Lou needed to take at the time...
