Kelly saw few games in his NHL career. He was predominantly a minor leaguer, seeing games with AHL and IHL affiliates for
Edmonton, Tampa Bay, the Devils, of course, the Kings, and the Minnesota Wild. Unfortunate, too, that he wasn't given much
of a shot; he was a good playmaker who could skate.
He did play in New Jersey long enough at the right time, though, to get his name on the Stanley Cup when the Devils won in
2000.
When the lockout materialized, he opted to play in Germany that season. He stayed over there until 07-08, when the Wild came
calling and signed to play for the Houston Aeros.
Add one more AHL affiliate to the list for 08-09. He is currently playing for the Syracuse Crunch, the farm team for the
Columbus Blue Jackets.
Entry Draft: 1995 First Round Pick (6th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers
