Hutchison was an aggressive player in his career. He often times made you pay the price coming into the zone, and sometimes,
you could see that just at looking at his PIM stats.
He had been the defense partner for both Borje Salming and Doug Wilson when he played for Toronto and Chicago,
respectively. In New Jersey, though, he was more often than not just the spare defenseman.
He actually retired after his season with the Devils was over, but the Maple Leafs wanted him back for one more season, so
they signed him.
He returned to London and got into the real estate business, ultimately becoming the local Remax rep, basing his business in
Dorchester. He also became active in the Leafs' Alumni Organization.
But if you know nothing else about him, know that he was the only other player on Devils history to wear the number 3.
Entry Draft: 1972 Third Round Pick (36th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings
