Hudson often liked playing a wide-open game, but the Scouts did not offer that kind of hockey for him. They couldn't afford to.
They didn't have the kind of talent that their opponents had, so Hudson and Co. had to learn how to play defense.
Sounds like a familiar story to me.
He still offered a decent and consistent contribution on offense, though. I know, 30-point seasons aren't saying much, but
remember the team we're talking about. For the Scouts and the early Rockies teams, those were good years.
Hudson also would go down as the leading playoff scorer in Rockies history, believe it or not. Yup, a whole WHOPPING 2
