The 2010-2011 season saw Henrique start the season on the Devils roster in a paper transaction, and finish the season as an
emergency callup for the last game of the season against the Boston Bruins... which he was heavily involved in; seemed like
every time he was out on the ice, I knew it because I heard his name get called.
When he was drafted, he was on an already-deep Windsor Spitfires team (which had included Taylor Hall), so his numbers
weren't what they would become (nor what many hoped). He would score 30-plus goals the following 2 seasons to go with
being on 2 consecutive Memorial Cup winners with the Spitfires. During the second championship run, he scored 20 goals
between the OHL playoffs and the Memorial Cup tournament, coupled with earning himself the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for
OHL playoff MVP.
And I already mentioned the start and finish of his first pro season. What I didn't mention yet was in between, where he lead the
Albany Devils in goals with 25, and was second in points with 50.
He's got a lot of offensive skill, but he's also sound defensively, a thing not uncommon for Devils' scouts to look for, and plays a
smart game.
