I was trying to figure out why Harper's name sounded so familiar to me. (And no, I don't mean the baseball player.) I found out
why when I went to write this page: I had read about him being on the Montreal Canadiens teams back in the 60s and early 70s
that won Cups. He had also captained the Los Angeles Kings at one point, as well as the Detroit Red Wings.
During his best days, Harper was a solid player in his own zone.
When the Rockies signed him, at that point, Harper was just looking to play more hockey somewhere, and possibly provide a
little in the leadership aspect. He had done the same thing the season before; he was a late season signing by the St. Louis Blues
then.
