Giroux had a lot of time spent both in the minors and in Europe already before coming to the Devils' system. I would say that it
was another depth move that benefited the River Rats more with his offensive play on the backline.
However, he would get to see 4 playoff games against the team that drafted him.
He would spend one more season in the AHL with the Houston Aeros during the lockout before heading off to play for Kazan
Ak-Bars in the Russian Super League, and segue into the KHL when he signed with SKA St. Petersburg. In 10-11, he played
his first season with Chelyabinsk Traktor.
Entry Draft: 1994 Eighth Round Pick (202nd overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers
