Dwyer's career did not last long at all... I don't mean just his NHL career. Even though he played okay as a secondary scorer in
the minors, he only played until 1983.
Just with the Rockies alone, he moved around a lot. He had played with Phoenix, Fort Worth, and Birmingham in the CHL, and
Hampton and Philadelphia in the AHL.
With the Flames, it was more of the same: nomadic but solid minor league career with few games played in Calgary.
I'm thinking that was why he retired: That he couldn't stay in one place on a permanent basis.
