So far in his career, Davison has been used as a 7th defenseman when he had played in the NHL... Well, that and as the
stay-at-home man. That one should be obvious given his size.
The Sharks had a lot of bodies on the backline, but no room for everybody, so that prompted him to be traded to the Islanders,
and later signed by the Vancouver Canucks.
It was while with the Islanders that he achieved a bit of history, scoring one of the longest goals in NHL history when while
killing a penalty against the Toronto Maple Leafs, he cleared the puck, and it went on Vesa Toskala, started taking funny
bounces to where it got by him.
Signing with the Devils brought on something different, though: While he did get assigned to Lowell, he would still be playing on
a regular basis there rather than sitting for 60 games.
His lone NHL game with the Devils was uneventful as far as stats are concerned.
Yep. Just as uneventful as him leaving the organization to play in the Czech Republic for 11-12.
