Be it with the Rangers, the Seals or the Scouts, Coalter had largely played in the minors. And he had some successful seasons
while down on the farm, especially in the Rangers' system, playing on 2 championship Omaha Knights teams.
He would retire from hockey in 1979 after 2 seasons with the AHL's Philadelphia Firebirds, and went to work in the
construction business.
His son Brandon would bring the Coalter name back to Bay Area hockey when he was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 1998.
Last I have, he was playing for the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
Entry Draft: 1970 Fifth Round Pick (67th overall) by the New York Rangers
