Not much I can say about a one-game wonder. At least as far as Boland is concerned, he did stay within the organization,
skipping around between the Port Huron Flags and the Fort Wayne Komets, putting up solid seasons with both teams, and I
mean the points, not just penalty minutes, which he normally got a lot of.
He got another crack at the NHL with the Sabres. He played 22 games with them and scored 3 points. He also played with the
Hershey Bears that season.
He would continue playing in the minors until he retired in 1984. He would become an active member of the Sabres' Alumni
Association.
One last bit of trivia: his teammate in Buffalo, Don Luce, married his sister Diane.
