Marshall had two winning seasons with the Indianapolis Checkers before the Rockies hired him for their post.
But with ownership being in such disarray and things not being much better on the ice, Marshall's tenure was
doomed for failure. It was only 24 games into the season when he and assistant Marshall Johnston traded jobs.
He did not stay with the coaching staff when the Rockies moved to New Jersey, however.
These days, he's part of the Carolina Hurricanes' scouting staff, serving as one of their amateur scouts since the
franchise was in its last days in Hartford. He held the same position with the New York Islanders prior to that.
