Norris Memorial
Trophy
As defined by the NHL, this trophy is awarded to "the defense player who demonstrates
throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position."

History of the trophy: The Norris Trophy was presented to the NHL by the children of
the late James Norris, former owner and president of the Detroit Red Wings, in memory
of him in 1953.
